Subject: Installation without system administrator privileges???

Hello,

I need your help, please: QsoNet is running fine here but only when I install it as system administrator. Whenever I try to install it without these privileges it says: "Couldn't get write access to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\CQ100".

Is there a way to overcome this? The manual says it is possible to install QsoNet for multiple users, not only for the system administrator.

I use Windows XP Home Edition and with administrator privileges I have installed QsoNet to the proposed directory.

Please answer in plain English and thanks in advance

Hi ALfred,

The fix was more difficult than I thought. The uninstall will not appear in the control panel add/remove programs unless I write the key into the registry. Also the program must go into the folder "Program Files", so you will have the same problem even if I fix the registry.

I guess it was Bill Gates idea that you must have admin priveledges in order to intstall any program.

If you know the answer to this problem please let me know.
