Hi KB8YK,

Is this a real NET or are you just saying that is where you will be listening for other firefighters to check in?

I ask because I am maintaining a list of QsoNet Nets and Skeds for my Group and would add your Net if it truly is a scheduled NET.

Thanks,

Hi Joe
This will be a weekly net when we finally get started, We used to have an actual HF net before the bands went to heck. I just got activated a few minutes ago. and am in the rapid learning mode.

Thanks for interest. We started a firefighters net in 1978 when N6AXQ (Sk) and I met on the air. We eventually got up to about 500 names on the firenet from all over the world. ZL1JM and I have been talking since 1979 and he put me on to cq100. It looks good to start up the net again. A number of us work Echolink, messenger and skype. I hope that some of the group meet daily on 14.300 at 2100Z or will move from other programs to this frequency any time of day. 73s KB8YK

Ok, we have now listed on our GROUP Calendar and in our Frequency Guide.

Good luck with the NET!

HI ALL
Today I and a group of Hams were working on 14.300, we were informed by another operator that this frequency was an arranged meeting point for retired Firemen and could we respect this in future and use another frequency.
Respect must be earned not expected.
As far as I am aware no individual or group can expect the use of a certain spot, approval for this as to be gained from the program owner and published for all to read.
I have looked on the site that gives a list of nets and the number is now at 23, so must I and all other Hams respect all these and keep away from these spots.
May I suggest in future the operators of nets respect that if a frequency is in use the net must find a new spot.
This is showing respect, to all Hams as equals and for the rule, if you are on a frequency first that frequency belongs to the persons there first.
