Subject: Connecting key or paddles

I have been using a straight key on cq 100 for about 5 months. I do this by using the side tone from my Kenwood HF rig for an oscillator. I inject the cw tone into the audio line in socket on my PC with a stereo extension from the external speaker jack. I am careful to keep the tone volume low so as not to overdrive the soundcard in my PC. As this may cause distortation. In the audio input window, I click on options, then properties. I then select recording not playback and there i select stereo mix and microphone. For cw or psk select line in and for voice select microphone on recording control. This works for me and my cw sounds great. I hope it will work for you. Comments are welcome. Good luck and 73
