Subject: Band Plan for 40 Meters

The QsoNet band plan is very simple because the bottom 100 kHz of each band is reserved for CW only. I am hearing from some countries that they are used to a band plan on 40 meters where voice is used from 7.030 upward.

40 meters has always been confusing to me, so I have avoided it since 1965 *hi*

Please post any comments about the suggestion that Qsonet lower the CW top of 40 meters from 7.100 to 7.030

Thanks, Doug

Subject: Keep 40 Meter Band Plan the Same

Since Qsonet is "simulated" Amateur Radio, I see no need to have additional phone space on 40 Meters. When you have "wall-to-wall" stations of 80, 40, 20, 15 & 10, then you might consider the change. Until then I'd recommend you leave it as it is. That's my suggestion.

I think this is your call Doug, but it would probably be better to leave the lower 100 for CW and some digital modes. I would agree with W1PI.

Subject: VKs on Phone on 7090 khz

Well Doug it looks like the VKs aren't waiting to find out what you plan to do. They have a phone net in operation on 7.090 already. The net was heard to close at 10:00 GMT on Thursday, 11/30/2006. It sure would have been nice of them to wait and see what you decided.
