Subject: why Techs transmitting outside thier privileges?

:x
I know this isn't RF but the rules should still apply!!! Those of us who took the stuff to upgrade should have our bands free of those who haven't. Whether we are on CQ100 or on our HF rigs. It just isn't right and the TEchs are taking advantage of non regulation on this program and it shouldn't be a problem. They wouldn't do it on RF cause they would loose thier tickets for doing it. Those who wrote this should also kick them off for being outlaws here also. Just like CBers who think they can do as they please Some Techs are following the same road!!! :x
It is stated when we signed up on here the same rules apply as for RF.

Subject: Yuppers Live and Let Live. Why have a ticket who cares

Hey why not come one come all. who cares what goes on Live and let live. Come on Techs...Kids...CBers...Moms And Dads anybody get on and transmitt no ham needed. Say and do as you wish they all agree it ain't nothing anymore. Ya use someones ticket get CQ100 and go where you want. As long as the ones in Canada get their 32.00 a year they don't care. This is for EveryOne. Why even send proof just let them down load it and use it. Ya I am all for it! Down the tubes as we do with everything we get ahold of. Um by phone ya why put bands on the program just say open to who ever. Yahoo Messenger don't even charge. ICQ is cute too the crap that goes on there. Yuppers we have degrated ourselves to a chat room full of outlaws and nobody cares real nice. You got my vote...oh ya since we are out side of the law with this, Voice anywhere you want FCC can't touch us and nobody cares. Those CW hams can't do a thing about it we out side the law. Freedom of speach bet it don't count here already been threaten if I complain they will cancel my membership. 8)   :P

sorry om I don't agree. you have to provide proof of licence so we are ham only....sure you can upload some one else's details, but that applies to all areas of life...if anyone wants to be cheating and double dealing that's up to you,and you gotta live with it....most of us are reasonably law abiding...one size don't fit all.I think Doug's done ham radio a great service,at a fair price....73's Des

Subject: I agree 100% especialy for you guys over in the UK Ofcom rul

All I am saying is we worked to get where we are in our Ham operations. Then we have to use this program because alot of us can't put up antennas.. It should be that we use the bands we are Suppose to use . It just underminds mine and others who have taken the time to study and pay thier money and pass thier test. Doug did a bang up job hats off to em. I paid my money and will again but I want the Techs to upgrade before going on the bands. Plus the conversations going on wasn't great either. If we don't police ourselves this program will go to the dogs and the language as well. I tell everybody I can about this program and will again just need to rethink about the free for all way it is used by some. Think about this if it gets out that it isn't under the law of ham radio what may accure. Most believe it is so things stay in an orderly manner. Look what happened to 11m it got out of control just a night mare most of us left and don't want to start agian  .

Just what don't you understand about this program? This is the internet, not Ham Radio in it's real form. Nothing is being taken away from you here. Your priveleges are safe and long as you are communicating via an antenna. If that changes, blame the FCC and not an internet chat program! The neat thing about this "chat program" is the exclusitivity for the ham radio operators only, no biases or prejiduces. This is good stuff! Besides, I have heard allot worse conversations or exchanges on the ham bands. Listin to a DX pile up once in awhile!

Hi Bruce,

Does this mean that between Dec. 19, 2006 when you signed into CQ100, and June 19, 2007 , the date you got your general ticket, you never used any frequency on CQ100 that was outside the frequencies allocated for use by a TECH?.... Interesting.

I suppose you were one of those truck-drivers also, who never cheated on your log, never used foul language on the CB, was 100% courtious to everyone on the road.

In the sense hams use the word 'transmit' folks that use CQ100 are not transmitting. Nothing is going out via radio.

Techs can use any frequency the like without breaking any FCC rules. The only rules that apply are set forth by the owner of the program. Period. If you don't like it you can either stop using the program or attempt to get the rule maker to change the rules. Crabbing about your dislike here is only serving to put you in disfavor among other users.

Now, that being said, I teach ham radio class and have recommended CQ100 to my students. I know of at least one Tech that has downloaded the program and I think two more are going to do the same. I will tell them to use the frequencies that they have privileges for, 28.300 - 28.500 and stay away from the outside edges just like they would in real radio. This will give them a chance to remember where they have privileges and give them a taste of HF to entice them to upgrade. We also may operate Morse Code in the CW portions of the other bands they have privileges on for practice. I don't know when you upgraded so I also don't know if you have studied Morse Code yet or not, but I highly recommend seeking to attain the skill. It can be used in more places than radio and someday could serve to save either your life or someone else's. I know it's a long shot, but it HAS happened in the past.

There is little or no activity in the 10 meter Tech portion so using it will not be a problem. I hope that others reading this will hop over and join us as I always teach that our QSOs should be open to all that wish to join so long as they remain polite and courteous.
