Hello!
Is it permitted to work SSTV via QSONET??
Should work great over the Net without any qsb, qrn and qrm :D

SSTV and digital modes are ok are any clear frequency.

Search this discussiion forum for digtial modes and sstv.
The audio compression codec used by QsoNet might cause problems with digital modes.

Hey Doug,
some confusion cam up this night :?
S57KS and I made a test in SSTV on 21.340 ( sstv qrg on 15Meter )
VE3MOX/Gus came in and he sad, that digital modes are not permitted
in the voice portions of the bands/servers.
Who is right, you (... at any clear frequency) or Gus /VE3MOX ???
S57KS and I, we would be grateful for a clear announcement from
official side.

Erwin,

I seems to me that Gus, VE3MOX may have once again misinterpeted Dougs idea but maybe Doug should clear this up with a "Black and White" set of rules, and I doubt that he wants to do this at this time. No where do I find that he will not allow a mix of modes on a clear channel on any band as of yet. He has suggested we try to stay in the CW portion of the 14 MHZ band (14.070), and probably would suggest that we use digital in the CW portions of each band but has not made any definate requests that we limit the use of digital to the CW areas as of yet. I think all he is after here is considerate operation at all times.

This concept is supose to be fun without a whole set of FCC rules and regulations. There is soooooo much room here for us to use and enjoy that all we have to do at the moment is to be considerate of each other. What he has set up here is a protected system for the benefit of Licensed Ham Operators to enjoy as a exta sideline mode to use or where antenna conditions, etc., are limited, and no QSB or "QRM" to contend with. We can all enjoy operating Ham Modes of all types here as long as we are considerate, and if rules and regulations need to be set up, the so be it, but I feel we can use the free spirit concept here now until black and white rules are needed, and I hope that never happens.

Larry, I use MMSSTV program on the computer running CQ100. I place the "radio" in vox mode then TX (transmit) the image. On my computer I have to adjust the "WAV" property down to almost nothing so not to overdrive the audio. I use no special or external devices of software.
