Subject: Acronyms used in the US and the UK etc

Hi folks, bearing in mind this is a international board if you are going to use acronyms please put in an explanation as not all of us are familiar with other countries organisations. e.g. people in the US may not be familiar with RAFARS, RSARS and RNARS or RAEN likewise people in the UK may not be entirely familar with ARRL or RACES etc.

Excellent Idea Phil. Here we go:

RAFARS = Royal Air Force Amateur Radio Society http://www.rafars.f9.co.uk/

RNARS = Royal Navy Amateur Radio Society http://www.rnars.org.uk/

RSARS = Royal Signals Amateur Radio Society http://www.rsars.org.uk/

RAEN = Radio Amateurs Radio Network http://www.raynet-uk.net/

ARRL = American Radio Relay League http://www.arrl.org/

RACES = Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service http://www.races.net/
