Subject: Better sound card ... will it help or not?

I am considering the possibility of getting a new laptop to use in my shack and would be installing QsoNet on it. My question: Is there any need to purchase a better sound card than the standard card that comes with most any laptop? Is it necessary to have a better sound card for the best possible audio on QsoNet ... or would a better sound card be of NO advantage here.

thanks... rich ae0v

The sound system on a laptop will work fine on CQ100.
AFIK (as far as I know) they don't put sound cards in laptops....the audio is built-in the Motherboard. Same for the video on laptops.

I'm using CQ100 on a laptop and desktop and everything works fine. In fact, the sound seems to work better on the laptop. I also use Skype and Echolink on the laptop.
